Multi-tasking Tablet App

Is it possible to develop an app that could have two apps open in it? I would like to have, for say, my banking app and EasyMoney app visible at the same time. I do not need to be able to scroll or write in both at the same time but just see them like tiling your windows on a PC.

More technical I thought you could manipulate the screen size recognized by the apps and the onPause state. Any pros out there that could verify if my idea is doable? I can program some but I am about to dive in to the deep end of Java and Android.

Thanks

Don't confuse multitasking with display. Android does multitask, and can run both apps at the same time. However, the Android display system is crippled, and can only display one window at a time. So the answer to your question is, unfortunately, no. You can switch between the apps, but you cannot display both at the same time.

I think that's changing though. Check out Aircalc, and the video player Stick It!, both by the same developer. They open up their respective apps on top of an already open app. So, while using the calculator for example, you can still interact with the app under it as the calculator only occupies a small portion of the screen.

OP, you may want to suggest your idea to the developer to see if something could be cooked up.

Edited to remove typo

You are right i am not looking for a multi-tasking app as much as i am looking for an app that can display multiple (at least 2) apps at once on a tablet. I'm not planning on launching an activity in each of them at the same time. I would like to open my bank statment, then open Easy Money (for example) and write down what I spent my greenbacks on. Then scroll bank statement up and write down what I spent again.

Ryan, I'll look in to them.
