Help Multi Touch Issues

JMey94

Newbie
I've noticed the multi touch to have some problems, particularly with the keyboards. Not just the stock but swiftkey and smart keyboard as well. I have it set to rapid on swiftkey, yet it will hiccup if I type too fast. It won't register sometimes, and will completely mess up a message. Even if I type "haha" too fast, it takes it as a delete gesture. Anyone else have these issues or know how to fix it? If not, I really have no choice but to return to Swype as that seems the only valid alternative. I'm outside the two week grace period for a return.

Swype was and continues to be the standard for me. I can't find a kb that even comes close to the speed and accuracy I get from Swype. YMMV.

I've already switched back to Swype, it was my standard before. I'm just worried the issues I've been having aren't because of crappy keyboards but because of something messed up with my phone/screen.

Jmey- I have not personally had the issue, or heard anything about multi touch issues. Mine is sensitive and quick. That's about all I've got for you, other than if you think there is a hardware problem you should probably take it back and see if they will fix or replace it. It's a lot of money spent to not be happy.... Good luck, keep us posted ;)

I was actually about to post the same problem, I use swiftkey pretty extensively and I get the same glitches. I'll try the multi touch keyboard for a little but Swype seems to be the most consistently good.

Also, from playing around with Swype, the multitouch keyboard, and SwiftkeyX, I don't think it's hardware. I think the phone and screen is optimized for the stock keyboards, SwiftkeyX probably needs an update to work on the Razr correctly. Definitely feels software to me since I can type just as fast with the multitouch as I do with Swiftkey and I have absolutely no problems.

Thanks for mentioning Antutu. I ran that and got ten points recognized so it's definitely software, not hardware

btw you can try to download a new keyboard from the market... like you i have to use swype because the other keyboard wont work right
