Root Multi-touch Screen Dead Zones?

Has anyone noticed anything weird with their phone's touch screen?
I never really noticed this, or had an issue until I played GTA on my phone.
The multi-touch doesn't recognize two point near the bottom (where the buttons are) of the screen or near the top (near the logo). It chooses to recognize one and ignores the other. (can't drive and steer at the same time. lol) I though it was just the game, so I downloaded an app to test multi-touch and it proves what I thought.

Has anyone else noticed anything like this?

Also, on a side note, I noticed that in the region other than that mentioned above, the phone picks up (at least) 8 points at a time. I found that interesting since the max on the Optimus M was 2.

Wait.. I loaded an emulator, and it worked fine. Hmm. This is strange. May have been something else.. ill trouble shoot this issue. I doubt ill be seeing the last of it.

I have had a similar problem, on my home screen , trying to point on the bottom right, where my messages would be on the home screen i would have trouble ,but its not everytime. its very weird. and on the lock combination i have sometimes it doesnt recongize my long pressed touch to end the combination, and would tell me to try again multiple times.
