Help Multiple apps crashing, even Settings...

In the last week my Huawei Ascend P2 has started to behave very weirdly. Not always, but enough times per day to make it very annoying, when I start an app it starts, shows a brief screen sometimes all white or all black, and then almost immediately closes itself. I can then find it the among the recent apps, but awaking it from there typically gives the exact same behavior. And this happens to pre-installed apps, like Settings, Facebook, email, as well as with apps installed by me.

Sometimes the screen background (behind the app icons) goes black for a short while. Also, the notification disappears. As you understand my phone has become rather useless, and seemingly so for no reason at all.

I have cleared cache, I have restarted, I have done everything that I can think about except factory reset, I really don't want to do a factory reset.

The phone runs Android 4.1.2 (not rooted), and it doesn't seem like Huawei is going to update it any time soon.

Any ideas anyone?

Just backup all your data and factory reset. Sounds like a corruption somewhere. It seems that you've done what you can without resetting.

OK, thanks. It's just that... well, even the backup is subject to the same behavior. Opens up briefly and then shuts down...

EDIT: And now... trying to reboot it, it just hangs on the animated Huawei logo screen. I had so much stuff on that phone... Well, thank you Huawei and goodbye. You wont see any of my money again. Never!

Seems to be internal memory failure. Finally I managed to get into recovery mode (press volume up and down simultaneously during boot), and the phone tells me "E: failed to mount /sdcard (No such file or directory)". I guess the phone is cooked...

The phone is two years old, I don't think any warranty covers it anymore. But good idea, I'll check. Thanks.

EDIT: No warranty. And factory reset did the trick. Unfortunately I lost a lot of stuff, settings etc... The Huawei backup is lacking, really. It does not back up settings made on teh phone, only things like contacts, messages, apps. I expected the phone to get back all settings, color scheme, accounts, etc, but no go.

EDIT: And the Huawei backup SW, called HiSuite, is so incredibly bad... If the same contact had several numbers, they get restored as different contacts, all named the same but with different numbers! And 48 contacts could not be restored at all. Such junk!

EDIT: And if you use Exchange, by no means restore the calendar. It will mess with your current calendar on the server, removing items that were not backed up. This is NOT what you want to happen!!

I guess your phone is with loafs of junk files, they will make your phone outload like flooding water.Even you restart and restart....one example, you install an app but delete it after some time, that cause a useless folder....and it is junk. SO you have to download a file Explorer from playstore ,find out unuseful folders, trash and delete it. (make sure you do not delete useful ones)
AFTER that, download junk cleaners like cleanmaster or du speed booster and select autokill on after you install the app, clean your junk files daily so that it will not crash.
hope it may help you
