Root Multiple issues with 4.1.2

I have a Samsung Galaxy Reverb and was delighted with it until a few days ago when they pushed the Jelly Bean OS onto it. Now, the phone runs slow, it freezes and I have to pull the battery to unfreeze it. In addition my Google calendar does not sync from the phone to google (it syncs from Google to phone only). I have been on several forums and the only solution is do hard reset to go back to the previous OS. Any other ideas?:(

Since posting this, I found a suggestion in another forum that some apps are not compatible with JellyBean and might cause some issues. The only two apps I have downloaded are Lookout Antivirus and Power Control widget. I uninstalled Lookout yesterday and so far the phone has not frozen since then. I am also able to sync Google calendar. Hesitate to believe that was the problem but if the phone continues to work right, I'll take it.

- clear your ram more often...
- dont install stupid apps that run in the background for no reason
- doing a hard reset will still keep you on jellybean... wont take you back to ics...
- flash one of the few roms that are available...
- replace google cal with a diff app...

Factory resets should fix all of the problems people are having. There's nothing inherently incompatible between the Reverb hardware and Jellybean. There should be a sticky somewhere giving these directions (by someone more qualified than me probably) because lots of people who haven't tried a factory reset are making threads and going through frustrations over something that can be fixed easily.

I reflashed zjones stock 4.1.2 and did factory/data wipe. I started having the unresponsive screen after that. My question now is: the folks who have unresponsive touchscreen, do you have lockscreen setup? Thats where mine always came up unrezponsive and in have seen others mention the same. I have turned off lockscreen for now but so far so good.

Yes, I have lockscreen setup. My phone freezes especially when something in the background is happening "like music playing". The lockscreen freezes and I have to hold the power button to reset. Also, the touch response seems slow and unresponsive. Sometimes I have to press an app button two to three times to get it work. It was never like that before. I am tempted to go back to superboy4444's JellyBean Sandwich until a new custom rom gets released.
