I just installed Lollipop and it's causing me massive amounts of frustration.
1) I keep my phone on mute at work. It is sitting on my desk and I depended on the notifications that would pop up on the lock screen and the LED lights to come on. Both those things are gone. Before when I got a text and my phone was on mute, a notification would wake it up and I would see my lock screen and the blue LED light would flash. I also had a blue indicator for Facebook Messenger and that does not work either.
2) I keep getting an import certificate notification for the email app (which I have never used) and would like it to stop. It pops up every so often and is annoying. It seems to not happen if I have security set on my phone. I don't have security set on my phone and don't want to be forced to just to make some error go away for an app I am not even using!
(edit) I set security and imported the certificates and now it won't let me turn security off. Says that it has been disabled by admin, encryption policy or credential storage. How can I fix this? I don't want security. I find it to be a giant pain in the ass.
I feel like I have been everywhere and turned on notifications in every possible place...under app manager, in the messaging app itself, under every place possible where there is a notification settings and nothing has worked. I've toggled things on and off. I've rebooted a dozen times. I have tried so many things I don't even know where to begin to list them. Lots of changing settings, lots of toggling, and I even wiped the cache partition.
Also, I installed Textra because people said that worked for them and it did not work for me.
If it is on vibrate, I get the wake screen but I don't want to use vibrate because I hate the noise and don't want to disturb my coworkers.
I have made my settings match the settings of a coworkers' whose works and still nothing. This has been the most frustrating update ever on any platform I have used in the past 20 years. (windows, mac, various phones etc).
