Multiple LG G3's modles

I have a LG G3 VS985 4G LTE that I am wanting to root. Call me 'old fashion' but why the need for so many different LG G3's?

Where do I go to root this thing & how do I determine what LG G3 root to look for?

LG G3 Cat 6
LG G3 D850
LG3 Stylus
LG G3 Vigor

Kind of hard to find a current guide here at AF, but seeing as you are on the Verizon model, what Android version are you on?
I think the latest is Marshmallow, VS98546A?
I also think that the bootloader is still locked, not sure. I do remember being able to root mine back on KitKat by using Stump root, but the most current version may require a different way to root.

As far as the multiple versions of the LG G3, I'm with ya! Confusing as heck and the version variation continues with other devices having boo-koo variants

I agree that this is confusing, @Plaigh but my guess is that they're all different models in different countries. I think you should probably use the stand along "LG G3" Forum, but if you want to be sure, I would suggest downloading the app which will automatically detect your device and dump you into the correct location:
