multiple problems with lollipop update

I have had numerous problems with my samsung galaxy s5 since installing the 5.0 update from verizon. First, i am receiving repeated text messages. Second, my CPU is always overheating even though i am always closing apps properly. Finally, battery drainage is much worse.

I could recommend you try this - it may help, but it definitely won't hurt
Take your phones back cover off & pull the battery while the phone is powered on. Next replace the battery back into the phone. Now with the phone still powered off hold down the volume up button the home button and the power button until you see the screen come on. now use the volume rocker to select wipe cache partition - hit the power button. Once the cache is wiped then select reboot phone.

As systemofadown quite rightly states, wiping your cache partition should be your first option. Full details and a video on how to accomplish this are in #1.3 of S5 Lollipop Update Problems - Dummies Guide as the problems you are reporting are typical of those that can be experienced after an update. There are also further steps in the guide, that you can take, to resolve these issues.

I performed the "Wipe Cache Partition" and cleared the cache of my downloaded apps - huge difference! I unplugged my phone at 6:30 yesterday morning and right now at 9:45 am the next day I have 31% battery. And it is not hot. Also helped the lag. I followed ironass' instructions, very simple and easy to do.
