Is it possible to launch
MultiTask Manager by holding home button..?

No. Currently the only long-press button functionality devs can modify is long-pressing the search button.

However, if you're rooted, there's a kernel modification that lets you see a list of up to fifteen most recent apps instead of six. Not quite the same, but pretty good.

That original window with 6 most recently used apps is useless.. To make my SGS a truely multitasking machine it has to be window with actually opened apps with possibility to switch between them and close them. MultiTask Manager has it all but to work as it should it has to be launched with hardware home button.
