Multitask ?

If I am on a call and need to look up a # for someone how do I do it if the people widget does not come up on the long press of the Home button? I.e. long press shows 6 other recently used apps but not the one I need.

Just press home and open the People app like normal?

That sounds way to complicated =). I thought that would drop the call.

no it keeps the phone open in the taskbar at the top it wont close out anything

it will not disconnect any call... until you press the "End Call" button.

The long press of the home button shows the last 6 apps you used (8 with 2.2).

But don't confuse that display and multi-tasking. The number of open apps can be much greater than 6. And Android keeps programs that need to stay active (like the phone) in an active state even while in the background.
