Help Multitasking?

Lurker
Does it exist on this phone?

For example if I go on a game like angry birds, and then quickly go on to the internet, and then go back to angry birds it restarts angry birds, and i cant keep on playing he level i was on before, and this happens with all apps. With my old HTC wildfire (a phone that angry birds hardly works on), it would carry on with the level i was on before, without having to load, and the one s is 6 times more powerful.
I thought the whole idea of android was that it had 'true' multitasking, unlike the iphone, but this doesnt seem very 'true' to me.

Is there a reason for this? (I think I read it may be down to sense, will HTC fix this?) Does this happen to everyone with this phone? It's extremely annoying.

Thanks

It works somewhat in Sense 4, it's just limited.

Check the settings (Settings>Developer Options>Apps) where you can adjust some of that.

Mine look like this:

I don't usually have more than 3 apps going at once, but mine will go back to where I left off.

Unfortunately, it is a problem with sense that cannot be fixed without root. With root you can use an app like min free manager or better yet a ROM like trick droid to make apps stay open longer.

I raised this issue with HTC and they refused to accept it was a 'problem' - it's how it is designed to work so they say.

I agree it renders the phone pretty much unusable as a multitasking device, particularly with games.

The trouble is that some apps allegedly don't work if you root the phone (for some reason), eg dropbox and skygo.

I haven't found tinkering with the developer options has yielded an improvement. The only thing that stops an application being reloaded is if it has an icon in the top bar area.
