Help Music controls on lockscreen

Hey guys

On my old phone I was able to swipe down on my lockscreen to pause my music, it was really handy but I've found out that it's not possible on the S3 if you secure the lockscreen with a pattern.
Are there any options I can enable or is there an app that can do it?

I can pause, rewind and fast-forward on my lock screen on my S3. I use a PIN and not a pattern. Are you running a custom ROM?

No I'm using Android 4.1.2 just the latest version in Europe, when I try it with pin it doesn't work.
I don't know if the LTE uses different software but I don't think so?
