Music from PC to phone problem

This is a noob question but I cannot for the life of me get this to work or my Desire to recognise the mp3s. This the processes I've tried:

1. connect usb to pc then phone.

2. opens phone folder.

3. drag and drop mp3s into the MP3 folder. (I even created another folder called 'Music' to try that.

4. Safely remove android phone.

5. pull uot USB, result no music files visible.

Any ideas? I'm at a loss!

No one able to help? I really confused here and can't get any music on my Desire.

First, are the mp3's corrupt or drm protected? second, have you restarted the phone?

I have a problem I have tried taking music from my computer to my phone and it said it synced but all my music is deleted from my phone. What can I do? i just wanted to make playlists from my songs
