Even though it has been removed from the market and DID stop working, I didn't remove music junk. Yesterday I randomly opened it up and bam the search worked, I did a song preview it worked as did the download. If you loved the app and for some reason didn't uninstall it. It now seems to be working......:D
 
Id have to say the creator of music junk just decided to take it down for some reason. There are plenty of the same kinds of programs available on the marketplace right now. Maybe the creator was just afraid of future legal entanglements and decided it wasn't worth it to keep it up.

Not much of a chance in hell of that being the case. A handful of other apps have been removed at around the same time. imusic has also been removed.

Did you honestly just write that? First off, there are still apps available on the Marketplace that do the exact same thing. Second off, these apps are not illegal in any way, though they may be used for illegal purposes. Google has no legal obligation to remove these apps. Having said that, if the RIAA was going to contact somebody about these apps, they would go directly to the app creators. It's a possibility that they threatened legal action against some of these people (the creators of imusic and music junk), but if google were removing apps like this, there would be none on the marketplace right now. And there still are some.

So you think it's mere coincidence that a significant number of these apps all got pulled down at the same time? Unlikely. Whether google did it or the app makers got letters, it still seems like it was done for a reason other than "the app makers felt like it". The most popular ones were taken down at around the same time... not unusual that less popular ones would still be up. Give it time and see what happens to those.

I don't agree that they should be taken down, because most of them use things like google search to get the files they offer in the first place.

I never said anything of that sort. It is likely legal pressure from RIAA to the app makers. I was arguing that it most likely wasn't google being "forced" to take these apps down. First reason being these apps are completely legal, and google has never been one to take down apps that could serve a legitimate purpose. Secondly, there are other apps on the market which serve the exact purpose, indicating without much doubt that this probably wasn't an action taken by google. I never said it was done because "the app makers felt like it", I simply said they were most likely taken down by the app makers (most likely due to copyright issues), rather than taken down by google. I was mostly reacting to his "not a chance in hell" comment. That's quite a strong assertion to make. Based on the evidence I've seen, it really isn't a far stretch to say that these app makers removed the apps due to legal pressure >.<
 
Hello, guys. I'm developer of Music Junk. And I want to say that it was removed by google, not me. "I Music" and "Music Online" were removed also by google. I don't know what is "RIAA" because my country law does not restrict free mp3 downloading. You can go to street and buy any pirated mp3 or movie dvd.

So... Music Junk will be working and improving. You can go and see all latest changes on my blog G.H.O.R. Laboratory. You can donwload latest version of Music Junk there also.

Don't worry, be happy;)
 
iMusic got replaced by NeoMusic. Same platform, puts the files in the same folder as before. iMusic never stopped working for me, but when I got my droid replaced I did not see iMusic in the marketplace but say NeoMusic and it is the same.
 
I could care less why it was removed. All I do know is there hasn't been a single song mj couldn't find. I haven't gotten one mis-labled song. The other music downloading apps FAIL to find the music I want or do mis-lable the tracks.
 
I don't know if it is back, but I have it in my backed up apps and it started working again. But now I use andtorrent to download everything. An entire cd at one time, can't beat that.

So how is this app working? Does it do some sort of Google search in the background, and if so, what's it searching for that returns actual links to mp3s?

I'd imagine you could search for "song X torrent" but you'd then need to run a torrent app to get the file. Music Junk clearly isn't doing that.

So where are all these mp3s coming from?
 
one problem you folks can help me out with please. I have a my touch and I can't find the downloaded songs on my music player. is there a specific download path in settings on music junk that will permit me to download to the my touch.
