Help music on sd card freezes

doc1964

Android Enthusiast
Got a SanDisk 64 GB card and put about 40 gig music on it. I find that on several occasions when opening the music app, I get a blank screen and it freezes. Tried downloading real player and it sticks on scanning for music. If I remove card and re insert it will work again for a while. Anyone any ideas. Thank you

First thing I would to would be to pull the SD card and scan it for errors with your computer. See if it is detecting any issues. If that isn't it it may be a corrupt MP3 file. With over 40GB of music you may want to download an app to check all of your mp3 files for errors.

Cheers mate, did not know you could do such a thing but Google search shows yes you can. I am on holiday just now so no access to pc, do you know of any android versions I could try downloading meantime. Thanks for your help.

Because of the way KitKat manages the SD card (restricts access) you aren't going to find any good apps that can diagnose and repair any issues. Your best bet is going to be and wait until you have access to a PC so it can be checked and repaired if needed.

Will do, it is working again just now so I can survive another week without music, just need to drink more. Cheers
