Help Music pauses when i receive text

When i'm playing music through my phone and i receive a text message the music has to pause for the text tone and then continues to play the rest of the song. Really irritating does anyone know how to stop this?

note; i have not yet rooted the phone.

I actually like this feature.

Guess you have to disabled notification settings.

I don't. It kills the vibe went listening to a great song and then you hear a sudden *ding*. and disabling the notification feature is just a work around.

Remember it a phone first, communication will be prioritized over a mp3 player. Most people probably prefer it this way

Actually if you just turn the phone to silent while listening to music, it doesn't pause the music when you get an alert. This is what I do & it fixes the problem. I agree that it ruins the "vibe" when there's that interruption. When I listen to music I'm typically at the gym in a cardio trance .
