My search for a good Music player with basic functionality still continues after almost 2 months of SG3 ownership.
The voice command option plays havoc with Music player. I am not sure if this is a Samsung TouchWhiz add-on or part of stock android. Whenever voice command is ON and music is playing through the car speakers (I don't use headset much, so don't know if it happens on that too), song either skips to next one before previous track finished, tracks pause randomly.
Also noticed that the voice quality is poor if Voice command is ON as I noticed when using the Virtual 7.1 ch equalizer, there was a big difference in quality when voice command was turned off.
My old Blackberry torch had this nice feature where once the music is playing and screen locks up, you could use the volume up and down buttons (long press) to move from one track to another...and the mute button could be used to pause music.
With SG3, once the screen powers off, no such option...even voice commands don't work, so it is pretty frustrating. Someone suggested Folder Play app, which it seems has the option to use volume buttons to move between tracks, but I like the equalizers that come with the built-in App, so have not tried that yet.
I feel the built-in music player is pretty backwards in functionality for what is such a powerfull and nice phone.
