Music Player help needed

I'm having two weird problems:

1) The stock Music Player will not recognize my imported playlists. Every other player I've installed sees them just fine. I don't know what I'm doing wrong with the stock player (I sync with Songbird).
2) Unfortunately, all of the other music players I've tried will play choppy for the first few seconds of every song (TuneWiki, Meridian, MixZing, doubleTwist). The stock player does not have this problem for me.

MixZing: Pro Lock Screen widget, recognizes my playlists. Con Plays choppy
Stock Player: Pro Lock Screen widget, plays perfect. Con Doesn't recognize playlists.

Anyone who can help solve the Con on either MixZing or the stock player?

Sorry, I don't have an answer for you. I so have a question: What type of files did you import? MP3?

Regarding the quote above: By Tock Player, do you mean the one that came with Captivate, the Samsung player? I haven't tried it with the lock screen. I haven't noticed a widget for it. But I have a 3rd party lock screen installed which I really like: Goto.

Pros: Nice looking, can customize the background, shows missed calls, new mails and message count, and can slide to one of those and it will go straight to that application, can control music player from lock screen

Cons: when slide to open, there is too long of a pause before it opens, requires stock Android Music player for control

Issues for me: I am not seeing genres; the list lists every single song, even when selecting by album.

I may try another player. First i want to see what the stock Android player is like, if I can find it to install, because I want to be able to control it from my unlock screen.
 
The files are all mp3, yes. The stock player is the one that came with the Captivate.

The Lock screen widget just looks like the bottom half a CD at the top portion of the screen when it's locked. You can pull that down for more control. I doubt it'll display on Goto though.

Thanks for Goto, I definitely want to check that out.
 
Actually, this one was sitting unnoticed for 2 days. :(

Hopefully, somebody can figure it out. After finding out about Goto, I want to get the installed player working (it's the only one Goto works with).
 
I haven't done an actual import yet, and I don't have 'playlists'. I did copy a straight copy over of some music, and it seems to be seeing that.

The card I just popped in from my old TILT which has MS based music databases ...when I put it it, it saw the music but didn't know the genres.

When I finally get around to syncing, I'll post how it goes. I'm trying to figure out how I can do that when I just load FTP on the phone and do it over wireless, so that I don't have to mess with cables, etc. But not sure I'll be able to establish a method to 'sync' that way.

Has anyone figured out how to get playlists to display in the included music player?

Again, every other player I've tried recognizes my playlists. It's only the Samsung player that doesn't.
 
I don't have a solution to the problem, but I have found the root cause. When your music is indexed it is placed in a sqlite database /dbdata/databases/com.android.providers.media/external-b6000af1.db...probably slightly different name for an external sd card...

Anyway, it is in this database that the music and playlist information is stored. If you place an m3u playlist on the device, it is correctly indexed and the information placed in the tables audio_playlists and audio_playlists_map. However for some strange reason the default music player reads from two different tables, music_audio_playlists and music_audio_playlists_map. So, it should be an easy thing to fix, but Samsung is going to have to be the one to do it...
