Help Music Player skips songs

My galaxy note music player starts a song, then a short way into it it skips to the next song. Sometimes it happens after a few seconds, other times after 30 seconds and other times it plays the entire song but has been getting worse.
I have tried installing a new audio player in case the issue lied here but no such luck, the music files are fine as they play on the pc and disk and as stated it sometimes plays the entire song.


I have had the phone for a while and it did previously work and I haven't updated the phone or changed anything that would affect it.

Click settings/Applications/All/Scroll down to the music player and click on it. Tap clear data and force stop. Reboot your phone and see if that has cured the issue.

A background app might be accessing SD card and preventing the music app to read music files as fast as he needs to. A background app in this case could be a torrent client or any indexing service.
