Music Player that will play from any folder

Hi
I have Sony Xperia Z3 Compact and would like a decent music player app that will pick up mp3 files from any folder on the phone or sd card.
The inbuilt Walkman app will only recognize music files that have been saved to a folder named 'music' However, I use Google Play Music and a DS Audio app who both cache music to their own folders, the location of which can't be changed (only moved to internal or external storage). I would like a music player that will recognize music stored in both of these locations and anywhere else on the phone.

Many thanks

+1 for PowerAmp. In its settings you just tell it what folders you want it to scan. There's a 15day trial and it's well worth the money

4.5 stars and everyone in my g+ circles loves it.
Must admit I haven't been listening to music on my phone for about 9months so don't know if it's gone downhill or not.
You could also check out Player Pro, I used that before PA.
I'd run the trial of PA if I was you though :thumbsupdroid:

another shout for jet audio player. Was a long time poweramp user, then tried jet audio and never went back. I love it.
What makes it better than PA mate? Must admit I've never tried it and PA was the 1st app i actually payed for :thumbsupdroid:

I'm more of a podcast listener than a music listener, and Jet Audio has a really clever playback mode that will play at up to 2X speed by taking out pauses between words.. so its faster without making people sound like chipmunks.

When I do listen to music it does everything i'd expect a music player to do, so its the best of both worlds for me. There's a free version and a pro version, I paid for the pro one as I just wanted to give the dev some money :)

Since I haven't used PowerAmp for some time, I can't really comment on how it's working now. I wonder if it's related to lollipop?

Cool mate I'm a night time podcast listener too but I use the Player FM app for that. Great app for discovering new podcasts man

Just release a music player which has good folder support - you can add custom 'home' folders which contain your music.
Here:
Long Player

hmmmm... I've just upgraded my note 2 to Kitkat and don't want to root it as for work I need an unrooted device (I know I can cloak it with exposed and stuff, but thats not an option here as for contractural reasons I need to be 100% stock)

Sooo.... Jet Audio works great.. except it has a problem deleting files due to the security permissions...
Rocketplayer also has the same issues

I've tried copying the files into their own parts of the SD card, but no go there. Poweramp doesn't support high speed playback.

and when I was importing podcasts across into PlayerFM it told me i could only do 20!

So, now i'm off trying to work out how to get doggcatcher and podcast addict to work.... sigh
