Music Player with best audio quality?

Actually, there's an unofficial version on Play Store. But your best bet would be to go to XDA for better support. Your phone also has to be rooted with BusyBox installed, or V4A won't work.

@androidmachine sorry on phone so was forgetting which sub-forum i was in and lapsing into (bit off-topic) rooted speak. @Revenant Ghost got that covered anyway.
Edit: there are some other hoops to jump through trying to get V4A and the driver install to stick properly in Android 5.x.x or 6.x.x and I had to move the app to /system/priv-app folder plus flash a SuperSU policy script to get round SElinux enforcing mode. Again, all of which needs a rooted phone and busybox, so might not be for you.

No, PowerAmp is paid software. There is a trial app you can use for a few days, but after that you must pay.
(Personally I hate ads, so would much rather pay the price of a cup of coffee or pint of beer not to have to put up with them.)

Today I downloaded JetAudio Player, and I'm liking what I'm seeing/hearing so far.

I've tried Neutron, PowerAMP and JetAudio. AIMP3 is definitely superior to all of them in terms of sound quality. And by much.
So whoever is looking for sound quality should choose AIMP.
It's android version is far from as functional as other android audio players, but that is secondary for me.

I am no audiophile but love music.
Poweramp gets great reviews from those with a more discerning ear than i, for that reason i bought it, use it and find it to be excellent.
What i do for convenience is cast music from a tablet to to my hi fi system.
I had bought a standard chromecast originally which was very good for doing this, but i later bought one of the audio ones only, which has a superior sound chip in it and there is a massive difference in quality when casting to it rather than the standard one.
It is excellent and really convenient.

AIMP or AIMP3? Just to be completely clear, because these are separate apps.
And when you say you created an account to pass the tip on, I am obliged to ask: do you have any connection to the app? It's fine if you do, but it's good etiquette to say so if you do.

Could be. The AIMP app seems to be just a streaming app.
AIMP3 did play music from my device. Clumsy user interface. Audio quality decent, but I disagree with the claim of it being greatly superior (I'm not a pro, but I've had my hearing tested a few times and while I've lost the highest frequencies through age my tonal discrimination is in the top fraction of a percent, so this is an area where I do trust my impressions). There was no extra detail that either Neutron or PowerAmp (alpha build 704) lacked, I'd have put the general musicality somewhere between the two (Neutron can be a bit clinical, the PowerAmp build I'm using has a noticably fuller sound). Now that's a good performance to be comparable to those, and as different people will prefer different tones I can see this may suit some people best. But for me it wasn't actually better, and certainly the sound didn't outweigh the more fiddly UI (which was almost unreadable too, but I assume there is some way of changing the background image). I may keep it a bit longer to try it with some different headphones and a few more different styles, but I don't personally think it will be replacing my other players.

I tried AIMP3 and then uninstalled it. I prefer Power Amp.

The trouble with saying an app is the "most popular" is that it's really easy to check. And when it takes just a few seconds to find apps with an order of magnitude more installs that hurts your credibility.
Also "most popular" is the sort of thing that people promoting an app say. Real users will tell you why they like an app, while "this is popular, you should get it" is a crude marketing message. So again, this makes me suspicious.
But most importantly, the topic is "best audio quality" but you haven't mentioned that, just undefined "features". So you've not addressed the point of the thread.
