I recently bought the SG2 and whenever I play music on the default player it is constantly interrupted by media scanning that actually shuts the music player down completely. I have read on other forums about both andriod player and samsung players being on this phone but cannot find another one on the phone. and which is the default one btw? I have searched the phone to try and find a setting that can be adjusted but to no avail. can anyone help me with this one, because I'm not paying some samsung jerk 15 bucks.

best advice would be invest few bucks and buy PowerAMP from android market. One of the best (if not the best imho) music players you`ll find on market. And you won`t have such problems as u wrote.
ps. there are some other players which are free but Poweramp is worth every penny

ubermusic is another app that i love, paid but worth it.. check it out along with powerampI have read elsewhere, that this problem can be cause by dirt, lint stuck in the USB port at the bottom shorting b/w contacts. Based on the resistance the SGS2 thinks it is being plugged then unplugged. Try getting in there with a clean, dry paintbrush or toothbrush (ie. non metalic brush) or or a blast of air to see if that fixes the media scanning all the time.

I posted a thread up as i was having the same problem. I now use power amp, it has far superior sound compared to the stock samsung player. Although i use the unpaid version (free for a couple of weeks) , i haven't updated to the full version yet and it's telling me to purchase i just click cancel and it overides this message.

The only music player I rely on is the stock player, for the simple fact that it is the *only* player that can stream track metadata over bluetooth. The UI sucks, but it never fails to work.
