Music syncing

I just got my first big-kid smartphone (yes, I'm 34 years old, why do you ask?), and I went with the Galaxy S6. I have previously only had experience with iOS on an iPod Touch, so Android in general is very new to me.

From what I've gathered via Google searches, I can easily get music onto my phone by simply using the drag-and-drop method, which is great, and fast! My question, however, is if I can add music to my phone already in playlists, or if I have to make the lists ON the phone. What's the best way to go about getting music onto my phone and keeping it organized? (Music that I already have, not new downloads.)

Thanks!

I'm nearly 70, and I've just got my first clever phone. I'd like an answer to your question too, Ladynutter.

My carrier gives me a free subscription to a service called Deezer, so I normally use that for music.

When I was using my own MP3's, I used Play Music and another app called N7 Player. Both did the job. :)

I don't have the S6, so no idea what the pre installed player is like, but there are a load of decent apps on the store if you don't like it.

I have a related question: Re drag and drop to transfer music from my Airmac to my phone. I tried plugging my phone into the USB port on my Airmac and the computer couldn't see the phone at all. Do I need an app to get that to work?
