music through mono blue tooth headset

[suchi]

I very much thought the ICS upgrade would solve the problem of listening music through mono bluetooth headset. http://www.androidforums.com/images/smilies/mad.gif
We still have to depend on third party Apps to hear music through mono BT sets.
I would like to know what others think of this deficiency of Android.

I don't think its a deficiency of Android per se. The only officially supported way of audio over Bluetooth is via the A2DP protocol. And if you headset doesn't support its the phone will assume it is not an audio device. Those other apps seem to "force" music over the phone headset service.
