Music transfer? Hello, where are you?

WTF? Why can't I transfer music from my PC to my Tab? :mad: I went to Samsung.com and apparently dl'ed some driver and when I go to run it, it tells me to browse for the CDC Serial...WTF is that? did I dl the wrong file because it says that it's for a Samsung mobile phone? This is f'-ing ridiculous, it shouldn't be this difficult to drag and drop (as promised) files to and fro from PC to Tab. You really dropped the ball Samsung...if I can't figure this BS out by the end of the day, I'm taking this tab back and getting an iPad2.:mad:

Okay, I'm sorry, I'm venting here. I won't get an iPad2. Can someone PLEASE, PLEASE tell me how to transer files to the SGT 10.1? PLEASE?
 
sounds like you might have installed the wrong drivers. my suggestion is to uninstall them, reboot, then:

1) make sure you have internet access
2) connect the tab to the usb port (pick a good port)
3) let windows scour the web for the appropriate drivers (wait until it's done, you should see pop-up messages from the system tray)
4) drag and drop
5) eject the tab

that's what i did for my windows 64bit. easy-peasie.
 
I couldn't get the drag and drop to work either. I installed the samsung kies program on my pc and, after telling it where my music files were, was able to use that program to transfer music for use with the tabs built in music player. Just checked the songs I wanted to transfer and hit the transfer to device button.
 
Hey, I just picked up the GT 10.1 a few days ago and I'm having the same issue. I finally found Kies and downloaded it. Loaded up pics and music into Kies. When I connect the tab Kies finds it and just shows the message "Connecting" indefinitely. It never fully connects. Any help here would be much appreciated!
 
Rumbum: I downloaded that driver and tried it first before downloading Kies. It didn't work with that driver. However, if that's what everyone is doing, I'll do it again and see if I can get it to work. Will Kies work with the GT? I'll give it a try, if anyone else has any other info that would be much appreciated as well.

With the two computers I've connected this device to, installing the driver let both of them recognize it as a storage device so that iI could drag and drop files to it. I tried kies and it worked, but I wasn't impressed with the interface. You may want to try Doubletwist. I like it plus if you purchae Airtwist, you can transfer your music via wireless.
 
Responding to another post, a light bulb came on in my head....... Make sure USB Debugging is not checked on your tablet.
