Must Have App

Has anyone tried the PowerMax app yet? I've been having some struggles with battery life as most people have. Since Juice Defender isn't working right now, I did some poking around this weekend and found this app:

PowerMax License Key - Android app on AppBrain

After using it for a couple of days now, I have to say that this is a must have app for TB owners. It's unbelievable and super easy. One button press to turn it on, and you're good to go. Press it again to turn it off and everything comes back to normal.

So far this app has saved A LOT more battery power than Juice Defender ever did. Today for example, I've had my battery off the charger for 3 1/2 hours and I am still at 85% battery life. That is with some moderate texting and navigating around the phone a bit.

Anyhow, I thought I would share the info. The link I provided is to the license key. You will need to download the free version first. :D

Been using it since Saturday and so far so good, I even noticed that it will turn off 4G for you if you are in a 4G area. It will keep 3G on if you are not in a 4G area however. The app is indeed awesome!

Yes it is! Are you using the "Max" or "Standard" setting?

just downloaded.
is this just an app to lower screen brightness, disable bluetooth, and kill auto-sync?
looks like a fancy widget/app that presets to disable features

i can't find anywhere in the app description where it states its methods or how it learns & refines based on your usage
if so, i'll just stick with widgets that disable features. i don't like the idea of turning off my data connection when i'm covered.

anyone, please enlighten me on what you've found or experienced with the app and how you believe it works

As far as I can tell it simply sets all of the setting to a powersave mode. It will adjust the screen brightness and screen off to the lowest settings and disable background sync. There are settings that you can adjust (Max, Standard, etc.) not sure what they all do as I have only used the Max settings. As far as I'm aware you can not adjust what it turns off seperately, you have to use one of the preset settings.

Hello!

To answer some of the questions raised:
1. PowerMax can be further controlled by setting it to Custom mode(during trial period and with paid license).
2. It is a convenience App - it will save all your settings, setup your phone for maximum battery life efficiency, and when you are done, will restore all your settings.

We will soon announce :) groundbreaking :D Gingerbread power management support! You read it here first!

I've been forgetting to turn on Powermax after I've finished using the phone. Is there any way to program it so that once it has been idle for a certain period of time it will automatically turn on Powermax?

I've not used PowerMax, I actually have a Bionic and my Daughter has the TB. You may be able to utilize something like Setting Profiles to fire PowerMax upon a sleep event. But, if you were to use Setting Profiles, based on what I've read above, you can probably get it to do everything that PowerMax does.

Just a thought,
