Help Mute phone isn't working

When I put the phone on mute I am still receiving notifications. This just recently started. Perhaps in the last day or two.
 
Silly thing, but have you tried turning your phone off for a few minutes and then booting it back up?

Also which apps are giving you notifications?
 
Do you mean that your device is still sounding? Silencing it won't stop notifications from coming in, it will just stop the sounds and vibrations associated with the notifications. I'm unfamiliar with the settings menus in Samsung devices but on my phone, in the do not disturb settings, there's an extra setting to tick to disable the peeking notifications when in DND mode.
