mute the m8?

I just switched from an iPhone to the HTC M8 and I notice that no matter what I do whether it be switching phone profiles or using a mute toggle app, whenever I open certain apps, for example clash of clans, its still loud even if the phone is "silenced". I have to turn the phone down via volume buttons. I'm looking for something a little easier maybe a toggle? Anybody have any suggestions?

Hello and welcome to android Forums. We would like to welcome you to our forums; we look forward to assisting you today!

Download the “Mute all sounds” app from the Play store. This app not only mutes all sounds, but also insures accidentally pressing the volume buttons does not turn up the volume while it is active.

It has a nice widget, and plenty of additional settings to customize your needs.

I hope this answer has assisted you with your issue!

Also, silence mode is only for the ringtone I believe. The sound (for music and apps) is separate so you would have to change this either by pressing the settings button while changing the ringtone volume or the volume button will switch to operate this while in an app with sound.
