MX2 Android TV Box goes through setup every time I turn it on

I bought an MX2 Android TV Box last summer, with XBMC pre-installed by the seller. It's worked fine until a few days ago. When I turned it on, instead of going straight to the home menu it came up with a 'Welcome' screen, and made me reenter the Wi-Fi information and preferred language. After I did this I found that XBMC was no longer on the box, though YouTube and Netflix were still available.

Now every time I turn the box on it goes through the same 'Welcome' set-up, and asks for the Wi-Fi password etc. Does anybody know what might have caused this, and how I can fix it? As far as I can tell, the box turned off normally the last time it worked properly.

I'd also like to get XBMC back, but at the moment there seems to be no point in installing it until box stops resetting every time I turn it on.

Use toothpick and plug the box in power with reset button pressed for 4-5 seconds. Don't have any sdcard or usb inserted in box. Recovery menu will show. Select Wipe data/factory reset and confirm.

It seems your userdata partition is corrupted. If that doesn't fix it, try reinstalling firmware. If that also doesn't help you're out of luck - your NAND is dead.

My MX III 2G 8B just go to setting screen when turn on, I did factory reset many times but the same. If NAND is dead, What I do then?

Hi I just bought mine 2 weeks ago and the same thing has happened' are you saying to hold in the reset button at the same time as you plug it in?

I did a factory restore through the settings but it has been hours saying it's shutting down, how long does it take? Or is something not working? Thanks
