Help MXQ android box

insomniak50

Lurker
Hello All,
Have a few questions about my adroid box.
I dont know what kind it is, It just has MXQ on it
Model number:
MXQ
Android version:
4.4.2
Build number:
KOT49H.20150720 test-keys

My question is this, I have dual networks at home 2.4 and 5G. I want to know is there a way to add an adapter to this box? As i can only see the 2.4 which is slow i have an adapter but it wont turn on when I plug it into the USB of the box. I have the disk with the drivers. How do i get it to install on the box?

Thank you in advance.
Still a newbie

Follow the instructions that came with the disk, or isn't there any, or are the drivers for Windows and macOS only?

Thing with these cheapo MXQ type things from unknown OEMs, there is no support.

Yes the drivers are for windows and mac only

Yes the drivers are for windows and mac only

Thing with Android, with it being a mobile embedded OS, you can't just install drivers from a disk like you can with a PC or Mac. Hardware drivers have to be built into the kernel at a low level, or even a completely custom ROM built. Which for these no-name, not supported Android boxes is no chance.
