Help MXQ box remote

I have an MXQ box that requires remote to turn on. Red light is on box so I know there is power, however the remote won't turn it on. When I press the red power button on remote to turn box on, the white power button flashes. The box won't turn on. I've unplugged everything and taken batteries out of remote and still nothing. Any suggestions ? Please dummy it down and keep it simple. I'm 47 and a female ... That should say enough ! lol

It's broken. Simple enough? Suggest returning it for replacement or repair under warranty.

My manual says the red light is on for "sleep mode" The remote should power it to the on or blue light mode
