Help MXQ Remote Issue

So, I went to turn on my MXQ box and for some reason the remote wouldn't work. I changed the batteries just incase, but nothing. So to turn it on I needed to unplug it and plug it back in. Luckily I have an Rii Mini i8 so I can still navigate around, however to my knowledge it doesn't have a power button.

Any idea why the original remote doesn't work? It seems to have "Un-Paired" itself...

Try pressing the button above '3' which looks like a mouse on it, it then works like a mouse effect but it's very slow to use, press the same button again and it goes to normal operation.
