Help My Android phone cancelled meetings by itself

I use Samsung Galaxy S i9000 to access my work emails. Yesterday I upgraded the firmware to Android version 2.3.3. Today I accepted the new email security policies. Right away my phone began sending meeting cancellations for past meetings on my calendar. I did not notice this at first until my colleagues reported it and I started getting OoO and Undelivered Mail messages. There were a total of 36 cancellations to hundreds of different people. I wasn't the meeting organizer and some of the meetings occured before I was even working in this company.

I found a similar incident reported in

I think this is quite a serious bug that is somehow connected to communication between an Android phone and Exchange servers. Has anyone else seen it?

My only way around was to stop the sync to my gmail account. Please inform me in this thread if you hav found a solution.
