Help my android phone rearranges my apps on reboot

Meizu m 2 note

my android phone rearranges my apps on reboot. I have uninstalled many of the apps there is in order to find out who the culprit is. I now have 3 pages of apps, many of them in folders BUT on reboot they get all re-arranged, removing themselves from their folders and the 3 pages becomes 6. I can't for the life of me figure out what is causing this. I thought perhaps virus but after using 3 apps to check it out it isn't it. So now I'm stooped. Clues anyone?
Thank you

That sounds like a bug(or a feature) in Flyme OS, which is Meizu's heavily customized and modified version of Android. Frankly Flyme OS tries to copy the look and feel of Apple iOS, which I'm not really a fan of anyway. Android devices don't usually do that. i.e. icons stay as you want them. One of Meizu's first smart-phones was a knock-off iPhone. That's how they became more widely known outside of China, via Engadget, for iPhone clones.

What version of Flyme OS is the device on, and are there any updates for it? Could try a different launcher instead of the stock Flyme OS one :spitoutdroid: ...which is probably the culprit. A launcher like Nova is good. :thumbsupdroid:

Oh thank you, thank you for replying. It is driving me nuts. And yes you are right about everything. Android 5.1. Flyme 4.5.4.2U. I just updated flyme 2 days ago and as is normal (when updating such a thing) everything was totally rearranged worse then before. I had hoped that this would fix the problem but it has not.

Oh although it had been a while that Flyme had the update I hesitated to do it. This problem existed b4 the update but did not always exist. I think that it is I who somehow did something to it (unwillingly) or another app did so (hence my removal of many of them). Unfortunately for me though I have set it to English there are still things remaining which are only in Mandarin.

Note to self: Don't buy a Meizu!

Well don't know about this particular one, but some Meizus there are things like CyanogenMod available. Their English community forum is here: http://forum.meizu.com/

BTW I once did some teaching work at Meizu HQ in Zhuhai. But have never considered buying one of their phones though.

Xie xie buddy. I really appreciate it. I will look into the meizu forum. If you don't mind me asking, if this weren't a meizu, what could cause such a thing?

Pengyou hao, bie keqi! Apps are arranged and organized by the launcher that's being used. Could be the stock Meizu Flyme OS one is just simply buggy. Chinese versions of Android like Flyme OS, are often really heavily modified and customized by their manufacturers. And Flyme OS seeks to be like Apple iOS. :spitoutdroid:

Have you tried a different launcher,
Nova is good and often recommended here on AF http://novalauncher.com/

Thanx again. I have written to Meizu (all of the forums somehow seem to say, "Sorry, only specified groups have permission to post new thread in this forum, please return.") And hopefully they will reply, but I do not have my hopes hi since my experience with customer service here is fair at best.
I will also give your launcher a try. I have no clue as to what it would be on my Meizu anyways or if it is even accessible.
Thank you

Michael
