Yesterday I charged my phone in the morning, barely used it through the day.In the evening, everything was OK,too but when I got up this morning my battery was dead. This happened the previous day too but then there was some problem with my sim card as I had no reception while I hormally should have,so I assumed that was the problem. But since then I have had reception, why did the battery die?

Hello teddy. Welcome to the forums. :)

It sounds like the sim card caused a data seeking loop which drained the battery as the system overworked trying to poll towers for a good signal.

I'd pull the sim card with the device off. Leave it out for a minute or two, then put it back in and see if the problem occurs again at some point. If it does, the sim card may be corrupted (that can happen from handling, or from moisture, dirt etc), so handle it very carefully not touching the contacts.

Also make sure the area where the sim and sd cards are located is very clean, using rubbing alcohol on cotton swabs to cleanse the inner areas and the case where the battery goes, etc.

Let us know how things go. There are always replacement sim cards. ;)
