my battery issue

justs3

Lurker
Ok so I know there's a lot of posts on this already but I just need personal advice. I've had my s3 in att since July. I love the phone its always been perfect for me. But I started having some issues. About a month ago(around thanksgiving) I noticed the battery was draining faster. I take the phone off the charger at 6 and around 10 it was at 80%. Which before that in the same time frame it would be at 90%. Then I upgraded to jellybean through kies. Battery drain almost doubled in the same time from 6-10 while my phone is sitting on my desk barley being used it was down to 60%!! I checked all my settings and tried a hard reset and my battery is still draining like crazy. As I was typing this in the 3 minutes it took the battery went from 64% to 58%. What's going on!?!? Its driving me crazy

Curious, around thanksgiving did you install any new applications?

If so, for a day or two, uninstall them. Also, do you happen to use a weather widget, even the default one? If so, turn if off (remove it from your wall) for a day or two and see if the device works better.

I would say perform a restore to factory, but you've already done this, so I bet it is an application or widget causing this.

Maybe someone else can chime in.

get a battery monitor app to see more details on where the drain is coming from, could be an app running in the background, could be the screen is coming on without you noticing, could be many other things too

I haven't downloaded any apps just the ones I always had. I don't use widgets except for music and I leave sync off. I have maybe 8 downloaded apps. Facebook, instagram, angry birds, family feud(with All notifications off) sefcu(my bank) TV guide Skype and tango(both just downloaded haven't been ran since reset) and I have Google now off. If I call att or Samsung will they send me a new battery to see if that's what the issue is
