I agree with what you all said. Here is what i do.
At work i shut off mobile network, shut off wifi, shut off BT, shut off background data.
Of course background data is needed to go into market, but you can enable right when you go into market, it's shutting it back off that is a few clicks.
I disable auto sync, and removed facebook sync completely, and just use the facebook app.
SO when i leave work i turn on mobile network and i use my phone as intended from 630pm to 1am and then sleep and start the cycle over.
Of course you can just keep your phone plugged into computer all day at work and not have to worry about a thing, which is what i do sometimes if i know i'm going out after work and will be showing it around, or using navigation or heavy texting, phone calls.
I wish there was a way to shut off background data quicker, but you have to go to accounts and sync, and uncheck background data, but we can't have it all can we.
I'm unplugged since 8am, so far, about 75 texts, 10 MMS pictures sent by me, and 2 or 3 downloads from market place, about 2 minutes of showing apps (metal detector and compass) and i'm at 70%. So in 6 hours, i went down 30%, it wont last me the whole day, but i might charge around 5pm EST to get topped off to 100% by 7pm, and then i'll last the entire day.
Maybe i wont charge it since i'm goin home after work and i'll see how long it really takes the phone to die.
ANd it's nice just the DroidFans, i see about 10 iphones right now that are plugged into associate computers that are charging.
