Help My Camera Sensor isn't centered

Hello Everyone,

Could you look at the back of your inspire and see if the camera sensor is actually centered to the lens housing? Mine is slightly lower than center, kind of making me crazy ... Thanks for your help.

No, mine is off centered too. Just make sure to take photos (zoomed in and out) and see if the edge of the photos are blocked at all.

Pictures are fine, just strange that HTC wouldn't make sure that it is centered. Well atelast I feel better about it knowing that I am not alone. Thanks for the quick replies.

This a normal characteristic for the Inspire. There is a degree of latitude in where the sensor is placed within the opening.

The continual pressure on the manufacturers to miniaturize components in order to build a thin, small phone is never ending. Packing all these components in is a daunting task, one that the engineers do a very good job of. Especially HTC.

I have a ridiculous number of smartphones, and upon close examination, an offset sensor is not unusual.

Hope this helps put you at ease.

As an aside: in my opinion HTC is one of the very best handset makers in the industry.

Believe me I've literally owned every brand of phone, and nearly every model of the ones sold in the US. I've also taken delivery of many non US phones directly from a distributor in Hong Kong, so my only point being I know a well made phone when I see one. :)

That isn't a sensor, it's the actual lens. The outside glass isn't the lens, it's just that, a piece of glass to protect the lens. Lenses, like the ones used on professional DSLR's, have a lens coating for anti-glare, and reflect back bluish/purple/green hue's. You can see those colors when you look at the lens.

The senor you can't see, it's behind the lens. The sensor needs to be in absolute darkness. No light can touch it, until the lens opens up to take a photo.
