Help My disappointment with Android (Software in general)

From my experience as software has progressed functionally has decreased. I'm finding myself frustrated with the lack of control. Which takes me to android. For some reason they decided that in car mode it is unsafe to use voice recognition to switch to calendar. That leaves me changing applications driving 70 miles an hour on a highway. I can no longer use car mode, it is useless to me. Also for some reason I need to be constantly notified that my battery is charged, yet I never emptied the battery in the entire life of the phone. I cannot turn off that notification but I can turn off other ones.

Regardless, I'm looking for more control. I don't know a lot about rooting, I have been reading about it, but I haven't read anything that led me to believe it will give me more settings.

Suggestions?

At least you have choice with android. If you don't like your stock car mode app.... Find a new one on the play store.

You can start here.

But really, what are your options as far as os? You definitely won't find more control on iOS...

I agree, but the market between microsoft and apple is a different story. Windows 7 was harder to configure than Windows XP (Classic Start Menu for example). I feel like Apple's place in the market is to be more user friendly while the competition should have a longer learning curve with more ability.

I have found my home page changed, random apps opening, been calling random people and all kinds of craziness including my phone being answered before I take it out of my pocket because notifications always turn on the device.

Also I was amazed how slow the device is. I do not have many apps and even less running. Yet they still seem to stall confusing me if I had correctly tapped the option or not. Lately my contacts have been crashing, something I would rather not troubleshoot.

There are more issues that I can't think about at this moment.

Anyway, I've come to the realization that my phone, while has the capacity to do many things. It does some of them poorly.
While a smart phone, still a phone. I'm buying a GPS to take the load of my phone. I doubt that's what they want to hear. Lack of satisfaction leading to buying other products.

I've lost interest in searching for apps to fix my problems.

Basically, it sounds like your operating system caches have been scrambled after the update.

It's an old Android bug.

That doesn't mean that I think it's ok, just that it may be easy to take matters into your own hands and fix it.

Start with the part about the cache clear, I think it's paragraph 1.3 - it often works, takes moments and your data is OK.

The rest will help.

I've been in your shoes.

I know every side of how this goes and why it's not ok.

And that that advice almost always fixes it.
