My Droid 4 keeps dropping bluetooth media

I have a Jabra bluetooth speaker in my car that I use both for music and calls. But frequently, the media (music) connection is dropped by my phone, Droid 4, while the phone connection remains intact. A potentially related issue is that Droid 4 self-reboots from time to time when it's connected to the Jabra via bluetooth.

Is this a known issue with a fix?

Have you made sure that the Bluetooth device is compatible with your device? I know a lot of Bluetooth devices are pretty device specific. You might want to try contacting the manufacturer of it if it doesn't say anywhere on the box.

I just assumed that BT speakers are pretty universal and generic.
If the Jabra BT speaker was not compatible, would it still stream media at all initially before dropping it?
