My Droid HTC go into landscape on one side only

Hi folks;
On my Droid HTC Eris from Verizon, when i turn it clockwise from upright position, it goes into the landscape mode but if i go counter clockwise from upright position it does not.

does this happen to everyone or is it just my phone?

I did run the G-sensor calibration more than once with no luck.

Any help?

Hello,

I think you have it backwards.

When I turn my Eris clockwise, trackball on left and speaker on the right, it doesn't do anything.

When I turn my Eris counter-clockwise, trackball on right and speaker on left, it goes into landscape mode. It only goes into landscape mode this orientation only.

If im holding my phone vertically and turn the top to the left it goes into landscape, but not if i turn it to right. not sure if thats the same thing you said yours does.

^Yeah what they said

Sorry you're correct, when the trackball is on the right that's when it goes into landscape. Having said that, is this something can be changed to make it work on both sides?

The only way I could think that it could possibly be changed would be if some wrote new code for the phone after it has been rooted. I dont see that being too easy though.

That's kinda silly. Could they not have programmed it both ways? It's not a problem for me (since I'm right-handed), but I can see how left-handed people would be upset about this.

In theory, it can be done. The game Bebbled will recognize the game in landscape modes both ways (in fact, it's essential to play this way).
