well sportsfans, the contract was up in July and like most of us were are wondering whats next. My life saw change and my family plan gf and I are no longer.,. you know. I saw out the contract and had to decide on what to do for a phone.
I always like the idea of no contract. What is the difference if the phone works? why commit to 2 years of the same phone if you can just go month by month? If you didnt pay VZW they would shut you down just the same as if you didnt pay some other monthly phone bill. The problem of no contract is you have to lay out a bunch of cash for a new phone. After looking at what the bigger no contract guys had to offer in android hardware most of it was on a fairly level plane with the DX i already had. So, I went to Cricket and paid 15 bucks for activation and took the 50 dollar 1 gig plan with unlimited talk and text and then they had someone flash my phone over to cricket for 40 bucks. The guy even said something about how the DX hauls ass on the cricket network compared to the rest of what normally runs on cricket.
Everything works, the only down side is there will be no more ROM changing but I think that has come to an end anyway. I settled in on Liberty 3.2 months back and can live with that for however long it takes before I change phones again.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience. Cricket has all the coverage I need where I live and anywhere Id drive to. The price isnt bad and the DroidX lives on!
