Help My Eris will not read any sd cards

I've researched, and searched but no one has seemed to have this problem, after my Eris would not get out of fastboot, I finally got it out of fastboot.

Everything was good and well, then I put the Sd chip back in it would not read it, I went to settings>sd card and storage. AND says unavailable like an Sd chip was never inserted. I initially thought that's weird so I inserted other cards, there not reading either. Now I tried hooking the phone to the computer via usb, doesn't show the storage option, just shows HTC sync and charge only.

Now I thought my SD chip was damaged and so I decided to put it into an adapter directly into my computer, it reads just fine.

So now, is it my phone like what have i done. D:
does anybody know how to fix? because i have slammed my head against this glowing magic box in simple fustration.

Good news. That's never happened to me, but perhaps you removed it while the phone was running without dismounting it first so it locked the interface? (Just a guess...)

If not for this quoted line I would have suggested shutting down and restarting the phone.
