Root my esteem wont read sd card! help! :(

Okay, so i updated my lesteem. I tryed to switch the internal memory with external, but it,didnt work. So now, even after a hard reset, my esteem can't read any sd card. Im positive this is a software problem with my screw up. In root xplorer, i placed a file to switch the internal and external. It was put in system;etc. But it wasn't working so i deleted it. I need to somehow, reset my whole hone. i can't downgrade, my computer won't let me. Idk what to do! :( please help. Ive already did a hard reset. I need something else. Also, because the, phone thinks i have no sd card, i can't download nothing including ROM manager. Any ideas on how to fix it?

did you try restoring one of your rom backups? i read everywhere the whole switching internal with external never worked correctly
 
In your PC move your backup from _External to external, reboot recovery and try to run your backup from internal.
 
That's just it guys. I don't have any Back UPS or anything because i just upgraded. Nothing is in my internal besides stock, and my external won't be read no matter what in the phone. It works in computers though. I don't have a cwm and i don't think there's a way to get one without your phone knowing you have an sd card
