Help my evo would not turn on.

yesterday my evo would not turn on at all and i had taken it off the charger. i hit the button a million times and thought maybe it was the charger so i moved to my car charger that works on my hubbys phone and it would not work on my evo so my husband downgraded me to a spare phone while i wait until i can get to best buy so i today i put my phone on the charger and hit the power button and voila! it showed it was charging! what happened to my darn phone? i am worried something is wrong. has anyone had that happen?

forgot to mention that the day before i had the phone on the charger and it was on when i was charging it however when i took it off the charger, it turned itself on so i guess it powered itself down. that was thursday and then friday nothing. its odd

guessing.. there is something wrong with your charging system.
bad cable? short someplace...
