Help My f3 keeps deleting my micro sd

Hey everybody, i ve been having this issues for a long time now but i finally got tired of it
So I'm trying to know if any of you have had this problem and how to solve it.
I have a 16gb micro sd card and i fill 12-13gb in it out of the 14.something it has available to use
But for some reason my phone keeps deleting everything
After this when i plug it in my computer says that it needs to be formatted...so do you think it is a memory problem our is it my phone???
Thanks in advance

I think it's a counterfeit card. The memory chip is about 8GB, and when you get to 12-13GB that you're trying to put on it, the controller wipes the memory chip. Run h2testw on it with a full test (you'll need a card reader or some other way of connecting the card directly to the computer) and see what it says. (If it says that the card has to be formatted first, format it first.)

These kinds of cards usually empty out at the first file you try to save after you reach the end of the real size, but if you're trying to transfer a lot of files at once, Windows may not get the failure notice until it's tried to send a few more gigs.

That's why I always buy SanDisk - they'll replace failed cards almost regardless of the reason. (I say almost because I physically damaged one, and I didn't even bother to call them - I doubt they'd pay for my heavy-handedness.)

If not the above, the card is just bad. It happens. I've had cards fail this way in the past where they would spontaneously erase and have to be formatted, although you may be able to do so and continue using the card it's best to just replace it. Eventually it will fail completely and you'll lose all the data on it.
Phones seem to be harder on SD cards than PC's, especially if the phone is rooted and the card is being used for apps where data is constantly being written to them. A name-brand card will probably hold up better, but it's still a good idea to keep backups of whatever is on the card in case it fails.

Well i know its not a counterfeit card. Its a kingston card and it is actually 16gb..because my music library is over 12gb. I get to put all the music in it..but a few days later it just deletes everything. One time i even turned off the phone correctly and when i went back on everything was gone
Think its the later that it is faulty. Ill buy a new one 32gb and see what happens.
Thanks!

Thanks for the info on sandisk sd cards, rukbat. I ruined a 32gb card (I assume) when I tried to partition it. I called them, & they're sending a new 1. I bought the card in june of '13.
