My first tablet, no auto-brightness?

Just bought my first tablet, the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1". I am currently running it without a SIM as it is on the way in the mail.

Immediately after connecting it to a wireless network, it started a system update which completed cleanly. Now, thing is. I own an Android phone, and that phone has the ability to enable Auto-Brightness, something this pad apparently doesn't.

Is this normal?

Well have you tried power saving mode? That will auto dim the screen if a certain amount of time has passed and you are not looking at the screen.

I just got samsung tab t231 ( 7 inch) i dont find auto brightness,.,.,. is it normal??/
Also, i find the screen doent go off(ie., Black) when i speak a call,.,.,. there should be some proximity sensor is nt it??????? (like in other android phones). Elso do i have to change settings somewhere??????
