Help My keys won't work on one row.

For some reason a row of keys on my keyboard will not work properly. I have to sort of hit the "top" of the key, or it wont pick up anything at all. It's frustrating because every other row of keys works. It does this in both screen modes. It is mostly affecting keys towards the very bottom of my screen if I hold the eris from the bottom.

Are the non working keys always the same keys, or are the different keys depending upon how you're holding the phone (portrait or landscape)?
I THINK what you're describing is a dead spot on the screen, but I'm not sure. If that's what it is then it's time for a replacement from Verizon.

It could be bad hardware, but the HTC keyboard has a calibration option somewhere in the options (sorry, I am rooted right now and running a non-HTC ROM at the moment, but I believe that you click the key that looks like a gear, or go to home then menu->settings->keyboard and look for a calibration option.) The calibration makes you type a bunch of stuff and adjusts the digitizer to match the way that you type. It could be that the defaults got messed up somehow.

Anyway, I would try that first before assuming a hardware problem. If it still doesn't work, then call or bring it to Verizon for replacement.

It's always the keys towards the bottom of the screen, so it's a dead spot. They work if I press hard or if I just mess around with it. I can't get a replacement, I'm rooted.
