Help my LG G2 android os is using high amount of data

My os seems to be using crazy high amounts of data in the background in under a month. I am a driver so I expect to use some amounts of data on my apps because I am almost never connected to Wi-Fi, unless I'm at home. I got a text stating that I had reached 75 percent of my data available. But most of the app I use show very little. My is however shows nearly 6 Gigs of data usage. When I click on it, it shows all of it as background.

Just so you know all the factors involved. I usually use my iheart radio app and some GPS for directions. Ocassionally I will stream a video through the internet to listen to its audio content, because a audio stream is not currently available. Can anyone tell me if this seems normal? Or is there something else I should be looking at as the culprit for eating all my data/assisting my is in consuming it?

If you are constantly streaming radio, it will use up your data. HERE is an article to give you an idea of how much data it can use streaming music. Check your app settings and see if you can lower the audio quality which will use less data.
