Gets Hot when browsing the internet for a few minutes it get's hot in the back and in the screen the temperature
rises to 103.3 F to 104.3 F degrees I have no apps running in the background and syncing is turned off and I disabled the Moto features off to save battery life. I barely got it yesterday but also yesterday it also got hot as well. Should I return it and get my money back?

These tend to run a little warm... you can call Motorola if you think it's getting REALLY hot, but just above body temperature is about what others are experiencing with no real issues.

can you test something out for me? set brightness to about 50% and make sure adaptive brighness is ON. i don't know why, but this seems to have made a difference for me.

OK, @mamawm, I set brightness to about 50% and Adaptive brightness is ON. I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Was your device running too warm and these settings eliminated the problem?

yes, and it hasn't happened since i changed them. but i'm not sure why screen brightness would create that much heat.

My phone has always been at close to 50% brightness with Adaptive brightness on. Maybe that's why I've never had the phone get too warm.

You guys like bright displays :) Mine is set to 20% and is fine for me, since equals the 40% setting on my Note 4. Are you using Chrome or Firefox beta? Those both for some reason run a lot warmer than other browsers with 1440p displays. My theory is there is some resources in the background forcing heavier GPU usage.

The design of this device is to dissipate heat from the back. Some device material designs hide the heat better than others, but that is not really a good thing (since bottles the heat up). Any app though that tries to push math with the GPU to all 1440p of the display can run hot on any device. I would prefer devs scale all games down to 1080p, since a lot less heat and the game still looks super sharp. You can usually tell what apps are pushing all 1440p, since they run a low warmer to hot compared to others.

Also, charging while running certain apps can get the device toasty as well.
